Eligibility
Among Friends Adult Day Center (ADC) is a social-model day center that provides supplemental care and support for older adults during daytime hours. Our program is designed to promote safety, dignity, engagement, and social connection while offering families and caregivers peace of mind.
Among Friends ADC provides structured daytime care and supervision Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., excluding holiday closures.
Admission Criteria
Individuals may be eligible for services at Among Friends Adult Day Center if they meet the following criteria:
Are 50 years of age or older
Display behaviors that are manageable in a group setting
Require assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) or supervision
Require assistance with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
Demonstrate memory loss or cognitive impairments that interfere with ADLs
Demonstrate physical limitations that interfere with ADLs
Require assistance in overcoming isolation associated with functional limitations
Live at home or with other caregivers
Are ambulatory or require minimal assistance (canes, walkers, and wheelchairs are acceptable)
Exclusion Criteria
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, staff, and visitors, individuals may not be eligible for participation if they meet any of the following exclusion criteria:
History of physical abuse toward others
History of sexual abuse toward others
History of emotional abuse toward others
History of violence toward others
Currently displaying aggressive behavior
Current alcohol dependence
Current chemical dependence
Currently has a communicable disease
Has a condition that requires a level of care beyond the scope of services provided by a social-model adult day center
